ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND EARLY DEVELOPMENT: Alaska’s Heart through Student Art to be March 16

Alaska Department of Education and Early Development issued the following announcement on March 1.

Call for student art! Showcase your student art at the 5th Annual Alaska’s Heart through Student Art show. Art will be on display at the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff Library, Archives and Museum building in March. #aklearns https://www.alaskaacsa.org/alaskasheart/

We are excited to announce “Alaska’s Heart Through Student Art” — the 5th Annual Student Art & Technology Legislative Reception! It will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff Building in Juneau. This is an opportunity to showcase all the creative work going on in education in Alaska through student work.

We would like to display up to 5 entries from small districts and 10 entries from large districts (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, & Mat-Su).

Consider the following as you choose the pieces:

Choose pieces of artwork that demonstrate creative learning methods in your school.

Select a piece that represents your district, culture, and community.

Choose pieces that are either visual art or technology-based (digital story, multi-media display, electronic music, etc.
