MATANUSKA-SUSITNA BOROUGH GOVERNMENT: Most MSB Facilities Closed to Public

Matanuska-Susitna Borough Government issued the following announcement on March 14.

MSB Facilities Closed to the Public

Effective March 16, 2020, most Borough facilities/buildings will be closed to public access and include the following:

Swimming pools
Skating Rinks
All Borough Libraries (Palmer & Wasilla Libraries are operated by their cities see their sites for details)
The Borough Admin Building (call 861-7801 for issues)
The Operations and Maintenance building (call the Road Hotline at 861-7755 for issues)
The Capital Projects building
All Public Safety buildings. (Borough Emergency Services will continue without interruption)
The Animal Care Facility is closed from now through March 16 for a deep cleaning.

The closures of Borough facilities/buildings and the cancellations of rentals will continually be evaluated. Any changes will be communicated to the public and Borough staff. Although most buildings/facilities will be closed to the public, work areas will remain open to allow many employees to continue to work where possible.

MSB Facilities That Remain Open or Partially Closed

The Borough Central Landfill but the Landfill Admin building will be closed (Call 861-7600 for issues)
Transfer sites will be fully open as previously scheduled
Borough’s Talkeetna Sewer and Water system will continue to operate, but the facility will be closed (call 861-7753 for issues)
While Public Safety Buildings are closed to the Public; Borough Emergency Services will continue without interruption.

MSB Public Meetings Canceled or Re-Scheduled

The Borough has cancelled or re-scheduled all public meetings through from March 16 through March 31. This includes all Assembly Meetings, as well as all Boards and Commission meetings.
