Trapper Creek issued the following announcement on March 18.
During the Klondike Gold Rush, Skagway (Skagway Visitor Department) was a base camp for roughly 40,000 people in search of gold who were on their way to the Yukon via the Chilkoot Trail. Today, the Alaska National Parks offers a historical tour of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park- Skagway, Alaska, so visitors can learn about what living during a late-1800s gold rush was like, as well as see some of the original buildings and storefronts.
