Travel Alaska issued the following announcement on March 31.
No trip to Homer is complete without taking a trip down the Homer "Spit" - 4.5 miles of land jutting out into Kachemak Bay.
The Spit is the remains of an ancient glacial moraine, constantly reshaped by ocean currents. It's a gathering place for everyone from campers to fishermen to shoppers to artists. It’s a place where you can go fishing, eat at a restaurant with a view, take a water taxi across the bay, go kayaking, or make your home base for other adventures.
There are amazing restaurants, art shops, the Homer Boat Harbor, beautiful beaches to walk and you can go tide pooling along the coastline.
We're curious, if you've been to the Homer Spit, what's your favorite thing to do there?
