Matanuska-Susitna Borough issued the following announcement on April 1.
It may seem a bit early with all that still on the ground but Alaska's wildfire season officially starts on Friday, April 1. Don't forget to get your Alaska DNR- Division of Forestry (DOF) burn permit to use a burn barrel or do any open debris burning.
