Wasilla City Council Regular Meeting

 The Wasilla City Council will take public testimony on the item(s) listed below during its May 9, 2022, Regular City Council Meeting. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Wasilla City Hall, Council Chambers, 290 E Herning Avenue, Wasilla, Alaska. Public testimony is limited to 3-minutes per person. 

  1. Ordinance Serial No. 22-12: Amending The Fiscal Year 2022 Youth Court Budget By Accepting $4,120 In Registration Fees For The Annual United Youth Courts Of Alaska Conference In Wasilla, Alaska, And Appropriating These Funds Into Mat-Su Youth Court's Budget For General Supplies.
  2. Ordinance Serial No. 22-13: Amending Wasilla Municipal Code (WMC) Title 2 Administration, By Adding Chapter 2.01 Code Of Ethics And Chapter 2.02 Ethics Complaints, To Enact A Code Of Ethics And An Ethics Complaint Process; Amending WMC 2.76.040 Duties, To Authorize Hearing Officers To Determine Ethics Complaints For The Purpose Of Implementing A Code Of Ethics And Enforcement Process For City Officials; Amending WMC 3.90.050 Conflicting Interests Prohibited And WMC 3.90.060 Prohibited Acts, To Apply Chapter 2.01 Code Of Ethics, “Conflict Of Interest” Definitions To Employee Conduct; Repealing WMC Chapter 2.12 City Officers Generally, WMC 2.44.100 Conflict Of Interest, WMC 5.08.200 Ethics Of Contracting And Purchasing, And Incorporating Parts Of These Provisions Into Chapter 2.01 Code Of Ethics; Repealing WMC 5.14.040 Ethics And Conflicts Of Interest, In Its Entirety; And Consolidating Ethical Rules And Definitions Applicable To City Officers In A Single Chapter.
  3. Ordinance Serial No. 22-14: Amending The Fiscal Year 2022 Budget By Accepting And Appropriating An Economic Development Administration Grant In The Amount Of $70,000 For A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), And Appropriating $70,000 From The General Fund, Fund Balance And Transferring The Funds in The Amount Of $70,000 To The CIP Fund For The Local Match Requirement.
Options for Providing Testimony at the Public Hearing  

  • In-Person Attendance and Testimony: It is recommended attendees wear a face-covering at the meeting and observe the CDC suggested guidelines by maintaining 6 feet between themselves and non-household members. (Authority: Mayoral Directive COVID-19 Update 18)
  •  Written Testimony: Written comments are due by noon the day of the meeting. Submit written comments to: clerk@cityofwasilla.gov or deliver them to the Clerk's Office, 290 E Herning Avenue, Wasilla. Written comments received will be distributed in written form only.
