Community spotlight: Wasilla
Wasilla is the largest town in the Mat-Su Valley, and a great place to make your base camp. Visit the Iditarod headquarters, the Wasilla Museum, the Veteran's Wall of Honor and the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry.
Take to the skies!
Flightseeing is a great way to see the Mat-Su Valley. Take a helicopter tour in the Knik River Valley or Glacier View area, or try a flightseeing trip from Talkeetna and land on a glacier on Denali. It's an experience you'll remember forever.
Check out the calendar of events
Summer is a busy time in Alaska, with events happening every day. Take in a Mat-Su Miners baseball game at Hermon Brothers Field, or plan a visit around one of the many community events taking place. Outdoor concerts, 5K runs and of course, the Alaska State Fair all make the summer exciting and busy.
Update on Denali Park Road
Due to a landslide, Denali Park Road is only open for the first 43 miles. Tours will be operating on different schedules in the past. And for a great alternative, try the Denali Highway, which connects Paxson and Cantwell.
