The Borough Manager and Assembly Member Mokie Tew were given a tour of the new Houston High School last Tuesday. Today's advanced construction standards were pointed out that will greatly reduce the potential damage an earthquake can inflict. One such improvement is how the school is divided into three separate sections that move independently of each other during a quake that will greatly lesson the stress on the building, and prevent what happened during the last significant quake.
