Red Flag Warnings

Wf

Red Flag Warnings have been issued today as critical fire weather conditions develop over portions of Southcentral and the Interior. Sustained winds, gusts and low RH values are expected for the Anchorage area, Matanuska Val-ley, Clam Gulch, Copper River basin, Deltana, Tanana Flats, and the Eastern Alaska Range, north of Donnelly Dome. Recent fires in Fairbanks and last evening’s Cashwell Lakes Fire, contained at 3.2 acres, have shown that fuels are very susceptible to ignition and rapid spread.

Burn Permit Suspensions have be issued for Fairbanks, Mat-Su, Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak Island and a Burn Ban for the Anchorage Municipality.
