The National Weather Service has issued a #RedFlagWarning for the Susitna Valley that is effective 1-10 p.m. Saturday, June 4 for the potential of widespread lighting without any precipitation. Low humidity, along with possible gusty winds near thunderstorms will have the ability to promote rapid growth of any new starts.
Hot and dry conditions persist across much of Alaska, with a moderate drought impacting portions of the Mat-Su Valley. Please remember, #burnpermitsuspensions are under effect for the majority of Alaska state lands, and while not illegal, campfires are not advised under these circumstances.
