Many moose hunts in Alaska have antler size or brow tine requirements to legally take a moose. It can be challenging to estimate antler spread and distinguish brow tines. Make sure to get a clear view of the antlers from the front. If it’s unclear if the moose will meet the size requirements, don’t shoot. For more tips on identifying legal moose and to check the requirements for participating in hunts, look at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game - Official’s 2022-2023 Alaska Hunting Regulations (https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/.../regulations_complete.pdf).
