The new Houston Solar Farm, developed by Renewable IPP, broke ground today. The 45 acre farm will consist of 6,200 foundation piles holding 14,000 solar panels and will produce enough energy to support 1,400 homes. The farm is being developed with lower impact by mulching to help maintain the ground while letting the natural vegetation, such as low bush cranberries, continue to grow. The project plans to be in operation by late summer of 2023.
