2022 MSB Regular Election update:
The officials finalized the hand count verification. They hand counted 38 precincts and the early voting sites from the Borough and the Division of Elections in Wasilla.
The hand count verified that the numbers that went through the ICPs (tabulators) at the precincts and early voting location were accurate. There were no changes from what went through the tabulators compared to the hand count.
The hand counting teams did find the following at 2 of the precincts:
· 25-330 – Springer Loop – 5 ballots were placed in the emergency slot at the precinct and never ran through the tabulator. The election officials are instructed to call us when any ballots go into the emergency slot so we can give them instructions on what to do, but this wasn’t done. These 5 ballots were hand counted and will be added to the overall results. The only vote on these 5 ballots was one the proposition. The yes votes went from 488 to 489.
· 30-605 – Willow – there was a separate envelope inside with the ballots that went through the tabulators that was labeled hand count. The ballot in the envelope never was tabulated by the ICP. The officials included this ballot in with the hand count, which changed this precincts results as follows:
o Christiana Sitbon went from 312 to 313
o The yes votes on the proposition wen from 588 to 589.
