The snow piled up in Southcentral, and it's not going anywhere. You may be tempted to clear your roof. Be sure to follow these safety tips :
Use a free online snow load calculator to determine if snow removal is needed.
Be aware of the weather. Watch for signs of frostbite and hypothermia.
Stay on the ground if possible. Use a roof rake (pictured here) instead of climbing a ladder.
Use good posture and lift with your knees to avoid a back injury.
Don't remove all the snow. Keep a small layer to prevent roof damage.
