Core Mat-Su Corridor Planning is one of the 14 Alaska Long Trail projects submitted into the FY24 state capital budget. This project, led by Alaska Trails, Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, would be a planning study to chart the Alaska Long Trail through the Palmer/Wasilla area - the most populous section of the Trail outside of Anchorage.
