Heads up nordic and backcountry users! Warm temperatures continue to plague Hatcher Pass above 2500 feet. Lack of freezing overnight since Monday morning will continue to elevate avalanche danger on southerly aspects.
Recent slab avalanches and large wet loose avalanches have been observed in the last 48 hours. We recommend staying off ALL southerly aspects through the warm spell. It is possible for avalanches to come close to Archangel Trail and or touch the road. Please heed caution during this extreme rapid warming. Expect cooler temperatures and northerly winds by Thursday morning.
