Alaska Tour & Travel issued the following announcement on March 7.
The ceremonial start of the 48th Iditarod! All 57 competing dog teams will make a run through Anchorage on Saturday before packing up and heading north to Willow for the official start on Sunday.
Even for locals, watching these amazing canine athletes do what they love to do never gets old! And for those of you coming for a visit this summer...here are a couple ways to catch the thrill.
